Bhubaneswar : Hundreds of Potter fans in Orissa will have to wait for one more day to get a copy of the seventh edition of the Harry Potter series as all the copies were sold out within hours of the book's official release here Saturday.
"We had asked Penguin India to supply at least 500 copies of 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' but we received only 192 copies," Basudev Mohapatra of A.K. Mishra Agency told IANS.
"Our book shop was opened at 6.30 am and within hours all the books were sold out. At least 100 people had given money in advance and we tried to provide them first," he said.
"At least 200 people including college students and school children who come to our shop in search of the book are disappointed because they did not get it. They will have to wait till we get the next packets of books," Mohapatra added.
At another bookstore located in the centre of the town, all the books were sold out within two hours. "We opened our shop at about 10.30 and within hours all the copies of the book had been sold out," said Ramakanta Mohapatra of Granthalaya.
"I have read all the past series and do not want to miss this one particularly because it is the final series," said Subhakanta Mohanty, a lucky fan who managed to get a copy.
