Islamabad : Members of a 45-member Grand Jirga will hold talks Tuesday with militants in Pakistan's restive northwestern Waziristan, Geo TV said.
After negotiations with Utmanzai tribe of North Waziristan Monday, the Fata Grand Tribal Jirga met governor of North West Frontier Province (NWFP) Ali Mohammed Jan Orakzai and briefed him about the meeting.
"The Jirga members held successful negotiations with Ali Jan Orakzai," Geo quoted members Malik Nasrullah Khan and Maulana Naik Zaman as saying.
The Jirga members told the governor that although some progress had been made during the two days negotiations with the tribesmen of North Waziristan, more time and effort would be required for conclusive and purposeful dialogue.
The Jirga members later proceeded for Miranshah, headquarters of North Waziristan, for negotiations with the militants.
