Cairo : Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Abul Gheit said that he and his Jordanian counterpart are preparing a report regarding their visit to Israeli Wednesday night, which they will both present at the scheduled Arab Foreign Ministers's meeting on Monday.
In a press release Thursday, Abul Gheit said such report is in coordination with the Arab ministerial committee tasked with handling the Arab peace initiative and would be submitted to the members of the international diplomatic Quartet.
The report will highlight Israel's reaction towards the Arab initiative, launched in the Arab summit that was held in Beirut in 2002, he said.
Egypt is constantly increasing contact with the Quartet and all international parties involved to helping in getting the Palestinian situation out of limbo which is witnessing a constant development situation, the statement said.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian foreign minister noted that his country is giving its highest priority to the Palestinian humanitarian crisis which he considered as "ongoing urgent matter," adding that efforts are being exerted for alleviating the Palestinian economic condition and encouraging Israelis and Palestinians to go back to negotiations.
There are also extensive contacts with the Quartet and international parties particularly to recent comments made by US President George W. Bush in his last speech on the Palestinian situation, the statement added.
Abul Gheit said ongoing efforts in helping to deal with the Palestinian humanitarian situation and improve living conditions must also coincide with serious efforts in starting serious negotiations with the parties involved.
