"We arrested Shabbir Ahmed, a Lashkar militant, from Chandni Chowk at around 5.30 in the evening. Some secret documents, foreign currency and a sophisticated weapon have been recovered from him," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Alok Kumar told IANS.

"We have taken him to a hotel in Azad Park nearby where he was staying. We are questioning the hotel owner about how long he had been living there and who had visited him," Kumar said.

He said the police would be able to divulge details later.

On Thursday, police had arrested two suspected terrorists of Manipur's outlawed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) for their alleged role in terror activities in the northeastern state.

The accused – Mangol, 33, and Oinam Suranjoy Singh, 30 – were nabbed during a police raid at the Azadpur fruit market area in northwest Delhi.
