Chandigarh : Government-run and private schools in Haryana will be graded by an accreditation cell of the government to improve the academic quality in the state.
The board of school education has decided to set up an accreditation cell in the state for this purpose, board chairman R.S. Gujral said Tuesday.
The cell will grade private and government schools according to their performance in academics, sports and other activities.
Gujral said that the cell will improve transparency and quality of education in the state.
He said Haryana was already the pioneer state in introducing the semester system in schools, leading to a significant increase in the pass percentage of students, up by 10-15 percent points in the middle, secondary and senior secondary examinations of the board.
