Srinagar: One person died while another was injured when unidentified gunmen believed to be militants fired at them at two different places in South Kashmir District of Pulwama today.
One Gh. Hussain Piswal 28, son of Saifudin, resident of Sanimarg Keller was killed during the preceding night after unidentified militants shot him dead at his residence.
Sources quoting eye witnesses told News Agency of Kashmir that a group of armed men barged into the house of Saifudin and shot him dead at a point blank range. The assailants fled from the place leaving the victim in a pool of Blood, sources said that Saifudin was immediately shifted to a near by Hospital where Doctors declared him as brought dead. Police has registered a case and launched a manhunt to nab the killers
Striking at another village of Katthallan of the same area, militants fired upon and injured another person identified as Latieef Ahmad Piswal son of. Karim Bakhash.
The militants left the place taking the victim for dead. The injured was immediately rushed to district hospital where doctors attending him stated his condition as stable, sources added.
Meanwhile, Police launched a search operation, after getting the information that dead body of a civilian is lying deep in the forest area of Katthallan. However, the police search team was yet to find the find till the last reports came in.
