Islamabad : Pakistani Interior Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao assured visiting US Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher Friday that Pakistan would continue to play its role against terrorism.
Talking to Boucher at the Ministry of Interior, Sherpao said that Pakistan and the US are allies in the global war against terror and Pakistan condemns terrorism in all forms and manifestations.
The meeting was held in a "cordial" atmosphere and the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, especially Pakistan-Afghanistan Jirga Commission and the biometric system, an interior ministry statement said.
It said the US has welcomed holding of Pakistani-Afghan Jirga Commission and it also appreciated introduction of the biometric system at the border to check illegal movement of nationals and possible terrorist activities.
Boucher praised Pakistan's pivotal role against the war against terrorism and hoped the two countries would continue to strengthen bilateral relations, the statement said.
