According to New Zealand TV, the move follows the decision by Fiji's interim regime to expel New Zealand High Commissioner to Fiji Michael Green, who is expected to fly out of the country Monday.

New Zealand imposed some sanctions last year when the Fiji military overthrew the Laisenia Qarase led government.

Media said New Zealand cabinet is likely to extend an existing ban on travel to New Zealand by those who supported the coup.

The list of those banned could also be extended and there are likely discussions of whether the New Zealand assets of those involved in the coup could be frozen.

The way aid money is distributed could also change.

Fiji's Interim Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said Sunday that Green was expelled to maintain Fiji's sovereignty.
