The opposition will also take up the differences of opinion between the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and Communist Party of India (CPI) over demolitions of illegal structures in Munnar.

The CPI has been fuming ever since a three-member task force razed a portion of the party office in Munnar.

Following this, Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan came out with an order that offices of political parties and religious places of worship should be spared even if they were built on encroached land.

But after the Kerala High Court strongly criticised Achuthanandan, he declared Friday that no one would be spared.

Another issue the opposition would take up for discussion is the viral fever epidemic that has been raging in the southern and central districts of the state for the past four weeks.

While the official death toll due to the fever is 40, unofficial reports say more than 70 have died. More than 100,000 affected people have visited various hospitals for treatment.

The opposition is also expected to play up the suspension of Achuthanandan and his party secretary Pinnarayi Vijayan from the CPI-M politburo.

The opposition has 42 members in the 140-member house.
