Dubai : A new airline has been launched in the UAE to cater to the growing demands of business aviation in the Middle East.
The airline, named Empire Aviation Group, was launched Tuesday by Emirates Investments Group, the WAM news agency said.
"Empire Aviation will operate in accordance with the highest international standards in the aviation industry, backed by knowledgeable personnel with extensive industry expertise," said Sheikh Tariq Bin Faisal Al Qassimi, chairman of the Emirates Investments Group.
According to Middle East Business Aviation Association (MEBAA), the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) owns some 300 aircraft of different types and capacities, 43 of which are in the UAE.
The association estimates the annual growth in the Middle East business aviation industry at 15 to 20 percent.
