Briefing Iranian journalists based in Damascus, Bagheri said that Palestinians should stay vigilant for plots hatched for them and avoid such traps.

Expressing his regret that some 3000 Palestinians have reportedly been killed or wounded in the recent inter-Palastinian clashes, the Iranian official said that the Palestinians should notice the fact that discord among them only serves the interests of their common enemy.

Bagheri said the results of his visit and meetings here will be reported to the ranking officials of Iran and certain solutions will be later presented for the problem.

He arrived last night in Damascus and held talks with Syrian Vice President Faruk al-Shara, Foreign Minister walid Al-Moallem and his deputy during Saturday and Sunday. He also had seperate meetings with some of Palestinian leaders including head of Hamas political bureau Khaled Mashal, PLO envoy to Lebanon Abbas Zaki and also special envoy of Paletinian Authority Chief Mahmoud Abbas to Syria.
