Jagatsinghpur : Eminent theatre artiste Uttam Pal, who has acted as a comedian in hundreds of stage shows, has died following a cardiac arrest, family sources said Monday. He was 80.
Pal, who passed away Sunday night in his home at Dedsardeuli village in Jagatsinghpur district, is survived by his wife and three sons.
Shops and business establishments in the area closed after news of his death came in.
Pal began his career when he was only 15. He later formed his own group, Radhang opera, and organised shows across the state.
