Islamabad : At least eight people were killed and at least 40 injured when storms and heavy rain lashed north-western Pakistan Thursday, the private Geo news channel reported.
Several houses collapsed in the torrential rains in the district of Karak some 150 km from the North West Frontier Province capital Peshawar.
According to the news channel, rescue and relief operations were impeded as road links to the area were cut. Geo said streams and watercourses in Karak became raging torrents.
