The decision to suspend the routine work in the courts was taken by Bar Association Kashmir, which later staged a protest demonstration against the alleged molestation attempt and subsequent lathicharge by police on `peaceful protestors’.

The Bar members assembled in the District Court complex and staged a protest march. Shouting slogans against the security forces and state government, the protestors marched towards Lal Chowk area.

The protestors demanded strict action against the guilty CRPF personnel who allegedly tried to molest a school going girl in Tral town on Monday.

More than 20 persons, including nine police personnel were injured in Tral town on Tuesday when police resorted to lathicharge on a mob protesting against the alleged molestation attempt. The protestors alleged that the CRPF personnel during a routine checking in the outskirts of the town tried to molest the girl due to which the she fainted and was later rushed to a local hospital.

However, on the other hand an official spokesman denied the allegations and said that girl among other students refused to allow checking and later marched towards a nearby CRPF camp. The girl fainted out of fright and rumors were spread by vested interest in the town about the alleged molestation attempt, the spokesman added.
