“The BCCI, along the other nine Test-playing countries, will receive $11.47 million from the ICC for the Indian team’s participation in the World Cup,” Shah told IANS.

“The 15 players who went for the World Cup will also get a share from this money,” he said over phone from India, but did not mention the amount.

The other nations that will receive the same amount are Australia, who won the World Cup title last month, Sri Lanka, who lost to Ricky Ponting’s team in the final, South Africa, England, Pakistan, Bangladesh, West Indies, New Zealand and Zimbabwe.

The Indian team lost two of the three group matches and crashed out in the first round itself. Rahul Dravid’s side lost to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and recorded their solitary win against minnows Bermuda.
