“The American Federation of Muslims of Indian Origin (AFMI) expresses its deep sympathies for the victims of these attacks and their families, said Dr.Shakir Mukhi, President of AFMI.

“AFMI urges the Indian government to take prompt action in apprehending the perpetrators of these heinous crimes and in bringing them to justice. We demand an impartial CBI inquiry into these blasts which were preceded by similar attacks in Malegaon and Delhi ,â€? said Dr.Mukhi.

AFMI took strong exception to the police firing on panicked worshippers “which could have been clearly avoided. Dr. Mukhi demanded an immediate investigation into the firing and urged stern action against offending officers.

Linking Hyderabad and Gorakhpur blasts as an attempt to create communal disunity and promote hate, AFMI urged the people of India to maintain peace and not to fall prey to the machinations of those who promote hate.
