Kolkata : Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee walked out of an all-party meeting on Nandigram after an argument with ruling Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) representatives over the issue of March 14 police firing in west Bengal's trouble-torn region.
Banerjee along with other representatives of her party suddenly came out of the meeting at around 5 p.m. and left for her South Kolkata residence.
The peace talks were aimed at finding ways to end the crisis in Nandigram, where at least 21 people have died since a flare-up in January over a special economic zone (SEZ) project.
Fourteen people were killed in police firing March 14. The Trinamool Congress has held CPI-M responsible for the violence.
