Paris : France's new President Nicolas Sarkozy has won two-thirds of public support in the latest opinion poll.
The poll, conducted by France's IFOP group for local weekly Journal du Dimanche, showed that 23 percent of the 1,922 surveyed said they were "very satisfied" with Sarkozy and 42 percent said they were "quite satisfied."
Thirty-one percent said they were "unhappy" with the new president — of whom 11 percent said they were "very unhappy."
Prime Minister Francois Fillon got 62 percent of support.
The National Assembly election is scheduled for June 10 and 17. Sarkozy's ruling Union for a Popular Movement is likely to win an absolute majority in the 577-member legislative body, according to all polls.
