Kabul : Three Afghan policemen and two Taliban insurgents were killed in separate clashes in the central Ghazni province, police said Monday.
Taliban militants raided a police checkpoint in Zana Khan area on Sunday night and killed two policemen, provincial police chief, Ali Shah Ahmadzai, said.
Two Taliban rebels were killed and eight others including six rebels were wounded, he added.
Also on Sunday night, a conflict in Deyak district killed one policeman and injured two policemen as well as four militants, Ahmadzai said.
Due to rising Taliban-linked insurgency, over 1,600 persons, most of whom were Taliban militants, have been killed in Afghanistan this year.
