Islamabad : Unidentified men blew up a railway bridge Thursday in Pakistan's southwestern province of Balochistan, police and railway officials said.
Train services between Quetta, the provincial capital and the rest of the country had to be suspended as a result, the sources added.
Railway officials said explosives were used to blow up the bridge at the Spazind area, some 16 km from Quetta early Thursday morning.
Trains to Quetta were stopped at various places after the blast, they said.
Bomb blasts and attacks on railway installations in Balochistan have increased in recent days.
Police in Quetta Rehmatullah Niazi said that 13 suspects have been arrested for interrogation.
Bairug Baloch, who claimed to be the spokesman for the outlawed Baloch Liberation Army, claimed responsibility for the blast.
