Dhanus gets nod to sell international SIM cards

Chennai : Telecom service provider Dhanus Technologies Ltd Wednesday said it had received a go-ahead from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to sell international SIM (subscriber identity module) cards in India.

“With the no-objection certificate from DoT, we expect our sales under the V-Tel brand to increase exponentially,” said M. Muthukrishnan, Dhanus’ vice-chairman.

These international SIM cards are expected to be available by the end of the year across India.

The cards are targeted at outbound travelling executives, the volume of which was pegged at around 8.3 million in 2006 and growing, the company said.

Dhanus Technologies Ltd is a communications services company, incorporated in 1993. It offers telecom, IT, ITeS and logistics services.
