India dominated the final day’s proceedings winning eight matches out of 12 in the singles matchplay format, which finished late in evening.

Going into the final round in the event which was played on the Ryder Cup format, India led 11-5.

Pakistan had limited success on the final day with only Naved Ali salving some pride by playing under his handicap. India’s win must be credited to the performances of H.S. Bedi (40 stableford points), Parminder Singh and Tarun Mehrotra who logged 37 points each.

They were well supported by Sharan Lakshmanan, Timmy Sarna and Javed Baig who ensured that the trophy stayed at home.

India garnered 16 points to Pakistan’s eight points on the final day that swelled the hosts’ total to 27.

Pakistan will host the next edition of the Indo-Pak Golf Dil Series, which is played on a reciprocal basis, in March 2008.

India won the first edition held in India and then lost the second one in Pakistan before taking the trophy back again this time.
