“Right from the beginning, Iran announced it pursues all its peaceful nuclear activities within a legal and legitimate framework,” Hosseini told a weekly press conference.

He said the reports by Director General of the IAEA Mohamed ElBaradei, particularly the recent one on the P1 and P2 centrifuges, confirmed that all positions taken by Iran in the past four years were “logical, correct and transparent.”

“ElBaradei’s report attests to Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities,” Hosseini said, adding that Iran’s nuclear case should follow its “normal route” at the IAEA.

ElBaradei released a report on Thursday, admitting that Iran has made some progress in revealing the extent of its nuclear program but still refuses to halt the enrichment activities, defying UN resolutions.

The United States and some other Western countries have been alleging that Iran may try to develop atomic bombs under a civilian cover. But Tehran insists its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only.
