“This meeting will address the obstacles that face the Palestinian-Israeli talks,” Yasser Abed Rabbo of the PLO’s executive committee told Voice of Palestine radio.

The talks were in preparation for a U.S.-hosted peace conference, initially expected by the end of this month, in Annapolis in the United States.

“The obstacles are not easy as the conference is approaching,” Abed Rabbo continued, adding that they involve the Road Map peace plan, Jerusalem issue, West Bank settlements, prisoners and other issues.

Abed Rabbo reiterated the Palestinian insistence about reaching “a clear reference with Israel over the final-status negotiations that will launch after the Annapolis summit.”

Newly-formed Palestinian and Israeli negotiating teams met on Saturday, which, according to Abed Rabbo, failed to make big progress.

Palestinian and Israeli sources said that Annapolis peace forum will kick off on Nov. 27.
