Kuwait joins energy, corruption commettee in Asian Parliamentary Assembly

Tehran : Kuwaiti MP Waleed Al-Tabtabae said here Sunday that Kuwait has joined the committees of the integrated energy market and fighting of corrupation in the Asian Parliamentary Assembly’s secretariat.

The integrated energy committee groups Kuwait, Iran, China, Thailand, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia, Al-Tabtabae told KUNA after a preparatory meeting for the assembly’s conference.

Kuwait is also a member in the corruption committee which also consist of Iran, Iraq and Thailand, he said.

Al-Tabtabae said the conferees approved the Arabic language as an official language in addition to English.

Tehran will host the secretariat of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly until 2010, said the Kuwait lawmaker.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is due to open the Assembly’s conference tomorrow.

Besides Al-Tabtabae, the Kuwaiti delegation is represented by Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Parliamentary Caucus MP Mubarak Al-Khurainij and MP Abdullah Akash.
