German firm to buy Indian heat exchangers

Ahmedabad : City-based Patel Airtemp Ltd has bagged an export order for the supply of heat exchangers valued at euro 635,000 (Rs.37 million) to a firm in Germany.

In a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange, the company Thursday said the order was received from UDHE gmbh, Germany, a global engineering contractor specialising in setting up process manufacturing plants.

The heat exchangers will be installed in a propylene and polypropylene plant coming up in Egypt that UDHE is building.

According to K.C. Shah, manager, finance, the company’s order book is now worth Rs.4.5 billion. It has been regularly getting fresh orders.

The company manufactures heat exchangers, columns and pressure vessels, and refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment. It also undertakes high-value turnkey projects.

In the year ended March 31, the company clocked total sales of Rs.4.1 billion. The company has four plants, of which one is located in Ahemedabad and three others in Gandhinagar, about 30 km from here.
