Belrin : German Foreign Minister and Vice-Chancellor Frank-Walter Steinmeier will head to the American city of Annapolis on Monday to take part in the Middle East peace summit to be held the next day.
A press release issued by the German Foreign Ministry on Friday said Steinmeier would be representing the Group of Eight leading industrialized nations (G8) which his country was currently heading.
It added that Steinmeier’s Middle East initiative, recently launched in Brussels, was supported by the European Union (EU).
The initiative calls for activating a European program to strengthen the Palestinian economy.
Palestinian, Israeli, and Arab officials will attend Annapolis summit.
