New Delhi : The lawyers of the Delhi High Court and lower courts here will go on a strike Tuesday to protest terror attacks targeting courts in three Uttar Pradesh cities last week.
Delhi Bar Council chairman K.K. Manan condemned the blasts that claimed 13 lives, and asked the lawyer community to restrain from work as a mark of respect for those killed in the serial bombings.
“There is a unanimous decision by the bar associations of these courts to hold a strike tomorrow,” said advocate Manan.
He expressed concern over lack of security in court premises for lawyers and litigants.
“We from the Bar will take some steps. We also plan to meet the chief justice of India and others for immediate steps to increase security arrangements in courts,” added Manan.
