Admissions for the all-women college, proposed by the Aryans Business School (ABS) near Rajpura town, 35 km from here, will be made in the 2008-09 session, ABS chairman Anshu Kataria announced.

“Nearly 11 million privately held companies are now majority-owned by women, according to the Washington-based Centre for Women Business Research. This accounts for nearly half (47.7 percent) of all private companies in the US. A similar trend is now showing in India as well,” Kataria said.

“With the various success stories, like Indra Nooyi, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw (Biocon) and other women business leaders, the ratio of women managers in corporate world is bound to rise,” said Kataria.
