GAZA, Oct 7 (KUNA) — Israeli Knesset member Yuval Steinitz, who represents the Likud party, called on Israeli authorities to take immediate actions to halt the Palestinian attacks on the Jewish state.
Steinitz told Israeli radio that people of Jerusalem and other cities in central Israel should not accept any political compromises offered by Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to the Palestinians, which might lead to more similar attacks.
He confirmed attacks earlier today on the Jewish settlement of Netivot, east of Gaza Strip, the radio reported. Saladin Brigades, the military wing of the Popular Resistance Committees, claimed responsibility for the attacks.
He also called on the Israeli government to halt the Palestinian attacks rather than proposing to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas the withdrawal from others cities.
