Baghdad : At least seven people were killed and 11 injured in a series of bomb attacks here Sunday, an interior ministry source said.
Three people were killed and three wounded when a roadside bomb went off near a US patrol in Baghdad’s southern district of Dora, the source said. The blast apparently missed its target and hit bystanders.
Earlier, three civilians were killed and six wounded when a homemade bomb planted inside a car detonated near a passing police patrol in the Baladiyat neighbourhood in eastern Baghdad.
In a separate attack, a civilian was killed and two people were injured when a bomb exploded at a car park near Mansour Hotel and close to the Iranian embassy in central Baghdad.
The powerful blast, which shook the nearby buildings, was only meters away from the police post outside the main gate of the hotel.
Bloodletting continues in the Iraqi capital despite the US-led security forces staging a security plan since Feb 14 aimed at controlling raging violence.
