Bhopal: The Bharatiya Janata Party ruled Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here on Tuesday met the bereaved families whose members were charred to death in a gory incident on Sunday last when Eid-ul-Fitr was being celebrated here in the walled city in Tila Jamalpura locality.
Chouhan expressed grief on the incident and consoled the affected families. He presented financial assistance to members of both the families. He said that employment related assistance would also be provided to these families.
The wife of Mumtaz Khan Mrs. Naseem Bi, daughters Rubina, Shabina, Sakina, sons Imtyaz and Mukhtar and a neighbour Abdul Hameed have died in this gory incident.
Chouhan visited the homes of the affected families in Tila Jamalpura locality and met Mrs. Zarin and Salim.
He presented a cheque of Rs. 1.20 lakh to three daughters of the family Subina, Zeenat and Aiya as financial assistance. Zeenat and Aiya were not at home at the time of the incident. The Chief Minister assured to provide necessary assistance for the marriage of Mumtaz Khan’s eldest daughter Subina. Immediate assistance of Rs. 20,000 has been given to the family.
Earlier, the Chief Minister visited Kamla Nehru Hospital and met six-year old Ishrat, the daughter of Zakir, a relative of Mumtaz Khan. The girl is undergoing treatment at the hospital. The Chief Minister consoled her mother and assured every possible assistance. Mumtaz Khan informed in detail about the incident.
Chouhan directed the Superintendent of Hamidia Hospital Dr. V.K. Pandya and the Dean Dr. Nirbhaya Shrivastava to ensure proper treatment and care of the injured.
The Chief Minister expressed grief on the death of Hameed, who had tried to rescue the family. He presented assistance of Rs. 50,000 to his wife.
