Minor girl kept in custody for months, repeatedly raped

New Delhi : A 14-year-old girl, kept in illegal custody for four months and repeatedly raped, has been rescued after her father filed a complaint two days ago, police said Wednesday.

The girl, who hails form Chhattisgarh, was rescued late Tuesday after the police raided Rural Placement Agency’s office in west Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh area. Police have arrested driver Kamaleshwar, 28, agency owner Rudra Singh and woman employee Sangeeta, 20.

“Sangeeta lured the victim on the pretext of providing a job and brought her to the city. The victim was kept in the agency’s room where Kamaleshwar repeatedly raped her due to which she became pregnant. Singh took her to a private hospital and got the foetus aborted,” a senior police official said.

The victim’s father Vinay Prakash, who came to the city a few days ago after hearing no news from her, approached police and Chaitanya, an NGO, to locate her.

“After conducting initial investigations, the placement agency office was raided and the victim was recovered,” the official said.

“We have admitted the victim in the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital and her medical examination has also confirmed that she was repeatedly raped,” the official added.
