Thiruvananthapuram : The Kerala government Wednesday decided to institute a judicial inquiry into a controversial land deal involving T.U. Kuruvilla who Monday resigned as public works minister following charges of fraud.
A sitting judge of the Kerala High Court will head the inquiry, the state cabinet decided at its meeting here.
After the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) last week indicated ordering a probe, Kuruvilla submitted his resignation to Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan Monday.
The former minister was accused of cheating Kuwait-based businessman K.G. Abraham into selling a plot of land.
