Announcing the launch of Flick, an exclusive designer wedding management and theme-based corporate events company, here Thursday, its director Gursimran Bhullar said the firm would create concepts and execute these for people who did not want conventional weddings.

Having worked out over 200 weddings in Canada – both Christian and Indian ones – from their Toronto-based facility, Bhullar says his company is looking at an elite clientele in Chandigarh and Punjab.

“We are focusing only on high-end clients. We will provide them end-to-end solution for designer weddings and theme-based corporate events. Our concept is not for the masses. We want to retain our exclusivity in whatever we do,” Bhullar stated.

To showcase what the company is claiming, a Moroccan-theme wedding is being organised near here Saturday.

“The services we will offer will depend on what the client wants and is ready to pay for. If he wants flowers imported from Amsterdam, we will do it. If a Moroccan chef is required to prepare dishes in Moroccan cuisine, we will fly one,” said Shivani, the company’s India operations head.

In Canada, the company charges about Canadian $100,000 for a wedding.

For non-resident Indians (NRI) unable to make it to the weddings of relatives in India, the company is offering deferred telecast of the event through the Internet. The telecast will be late by a few minutes.

“We are looking at a market of 30-50 weddings in a year now. This sector is quite unorganised so far in Punjab. We feel that a lot of rich Punjabis would want to go in for designer weddings. We will offer everything from invitation cards, venues, arrangements, trousseau, lighting, sound and food,” Shivani said.

Julia Hughes, Flick’s operations head in Canada, said the success of their venture in Canada has brought them to offer designer weddings in India.

“This seems like a good market. People are willing to pay here to get a good concept. Our tailor-made events are hassle-free for our clients,” Hughes said.
