Kabul : A suicide attack in the southern Afghan province of Helmand killed at least 25 people Monday and wounded 60, officials said.
The dead were 12 civilians and 13 members of the Afghan security forces, the head of the district’s administration, Abdul Manab, said.
The attack occurred at a taxi stand near a market in Gereshk town and was believed to have been aimed at a police commander. However, he survived the attack uninjured.
The suicide attacker was travelling on a motorbike.
