Durban, Sep 18 (IANS) England wicketkeeper Matt Prior broke his thumb during nets and has been ruled out for the rest of the Twenty20 World Championships currently in progress in South Africa.
England have replaced Prior with Vikram Solanki both as opener and behind the stumps for Tuesday’s Group E clash with New Zealand at the Kingsmead ground here.
England have decided to wait until after the New Zealand match to decide whether they need to fly out a replacement for the injured Prior. Having lost earlier to South Africa in Group E Sunday, another defeat against the Kiwis will end their chances of making it to the semi-finals from the group that also includes India.
