Pakistani fashion designer Honey Waqar and the designer couple Kamyar and Maheen who own the Karma label will display their collection on the ramp, while labels Sahara and Bareez’e will unfold their creative brilliance during the three-day fashion fair.

Indian style gurus, including the likes of Rina Dhaka, Varun Bahl, Malini Ramani, Pallavi Jaikishan, Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Bhairavi Jaikishan, will also showcase their creations on the ramp.

“Bridal Asia provides a great platform to facilitate cultural harmony between India and Pakistan, through fashion,” Divya Gurwara, chief executive officer, Bridal Asia, told IANS.

“The exhibition brings about a great bonding between designers of both nations. The bridal collections of designers of both nations are similar and yet different, especially in cuts and embroidery,” Gurwara maintained at a press meet here Wednesday.

A total of 49 fashion designers – including four Pakistani designers and 45 Indian designers – will participate in the tenth edition of the fair.

Not only cultural harmony but the event also augments business between the creative entrepreneurs of both the countries.

“Including both, the unorganised and the organised sector, the big, fat Indian wedding market is worth over Rs. 50,000 crore (Rs. 500 billion) and has a lot to offers to the Pakistani designers,” said Gurwara.

The exposition, spread over 120 stalls for 80 participants, will showcase the latest in the wedding market. From bridal wear, trousseau packaging, chocolates, jewellery and other accessories to lifestyle products, ranging from showpieces and gift items, will be exhibited and sold.

Much before the tenth edition of the wedding fair full of razzmatazz, fun and frolic, participant designer duos like Kamaali and Shruti, Rimple and Harpreet Narula and Alpana and Neeraj and designer Elisha W previewed their collections.

The lines offer embroidered sarees, kurta with churidars and shararas (skirt teamed with blouse and stole) in vibrant colours and varied styles.
