Government spokesperson Nasser Judeh told reporters that the Israeli decision “will not help the endeavors aimed at creating the environment conducive to the purported progress in the peace process.”

“It was important to be committed to the international law related to the situation of Gaza,” said Judeh.

The spokesperson, meanwhile, voiced Jordanian government’s warning against any humanitarian, security and environmental repercussions that might result from implementing such a decision.

The government also warned against any steps that could be taken only to increase suffering of the Palestinians in Gaza, added the spokesperson.

Israel declared the Gaza Strip an “enemy entity” on Wednesday, saying that it would reduce its fuel and power supplies to the Hamas-run territory in response to rocket attacks by Palestinian militants.
