Kuwait’s ALAFCO leases six planes to Oman for 12 years

Kuwait : Aviation Lease And Finance Company (ALAFCO) said Saturday it signed a 12-year contract to lease six Boeing airplanes to Oman Air.

In a press release, ALAFCO said the planes would be handed over in three phases throughout 2012-2015, noting that Oman Air was the first carrier in the Middle East to obtain the Boeing Dreamliner planes.

ALAFCO’s Chairman and CEO Ahmad Abdullah Al-Zabin said a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with Oman Air regarding the deal, noting that his company has 22 Boeing Dreamliner planes that were agreed to be bought from the manufacturer.

According to research findings, there will be an increased demand on this type of modern planes, he said.

Oman Air was the second Gulf company and fourth Middle Eastern firm to lease planes from ALAFCO that owns and operates 27 planes leased to 15 companies in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, he explained
