Mubarak, who was inspecting a number of housing projects for youth in 6th October City in southwest of Cairo while making the remarks, also called for a “clear agenda” before holding the conference.

A “clear agenda” will help the conference come out with acceptable and doable resolutions that narrow chances of sparking violence and disturbances, he said.

The Egyptian president noted that the picture about the conference was still lack of clarity, warning that the conference’s nature would be marred by such ambiguity.

Mubarak stressed the importance of the diplomatic efforts made by U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who recently visited the region, including the Palestinian territory and Israel.

Rice paid a 24-hour visit to Israel and the Palestinian territory on Wednesday and Thursday.

Rice’s visit aimed at laying groundwork for a U.S. sponsored international conference on Middle East peace due to be held in November.
