Baghdad : At least 20 people were killed and about 30 others wounded in a suicide bombing attack at a mosque in the northern Iraqi city of Baquba on Monday, local police source said.
Colonel Ali Dulan, leader of the Baquba police, was among the killed, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The suicide bomber detonated explosives at about 7:00 p.m. (1500 GMT) in a gathering at the mosque in the Shifta district where people were breaking the daily fast, the source said.
Baquba is the capital city of the Diyala province, where Sunni insurgents have launched frequent attacks.
