Washington : Pakistan Peoples Party chairperson Benazir Bhutto arrived here Sunday evening for a visit to the US capital ahead of her planned return to Pakistan next month.
The former prime minister, who is scheduled to return to Pakistan on Oct 18, will deliver a speech Tuesday on the Capitol Hill on “The Political Situation in Pakistan” at an event, organised by the Middle East Institute.
Former US ambassador to Pakistan, Wendy Chamberlin, who heads the institute, will moderate the presentation.
Meanwhile, Benazir Bhutto visited the residence of Washington D.C PPP leader Dr Manzoor Javed soon after her arrival to offer condolences over the demise of his mother, who passed away a fortnight ago. Former senator Akbar Khwaja accompanied her during the visit.
