Hailing the Supreme Court ruling that allowed Musharraf to run for the elections in uniform, Aziz said the verdict had removed uncertainties about future developments, Online news agency reported.

A nine-member bench of the apex court, headed by Justice Rana Bhagwandas, Friday dismissed all petitions filed against Musharraf’s candidature and his simultaneously holding two offices of the president and the army chief by a 6-3 majority decision.

Aziz was addressing the proposers and seconders of Musharraf who had gathered at the prime minister’s house.

“All the stakeholders should accept the decision with open hearts and minds and participate in the election process,” the prime minister said.

Aziz said that the PML and allied parties have a clear majority to pave the way for Musharraf’s second term as president of Pakistan.

He said the government was taking all necessary measures to ensure a smooth electoral process and no one would be allowed to violate the law of land.
