Tokyo : An earthquake measuring an estimated 7.1 on the Richter Scale Sunday hit areas near Guam, an island in the western Pacific Ocean, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
The quake occurred at around 11.09 a.m. (0209 GMT). Its epicentre was 30 km underground at 10.6 degrees northern latitude and 145.9 degrees eastern longitude, the agency said. No casualties were reported.
