Kochi : It will be dinner on a cruise boat for the Indian cricket team ahead of their second one day international against Australia here Tuesday. Special high protein diets and herbal massages too are planned for both teams.
The cricketers will stay at Taj Malabar, and hotel officials say they will be pampering their guests.
Amit Ghosh, a veteran chef, told IANS that it would be a food feast for the players.
“The general guideline for the menu will be based on the diet chart provided by the two team physios. But apart from that we are ready to dish out anything,” said Ghosh.
The Indian team will have its dinner served on a boat as it cruises along the backwaters behind the hotel, the chef said.
Ghosh said the Australians can look forward to steaks, roasted meat and seafood, all of which are to be cooked in less oil and practically no fat.
“Apart from that it would be a festival of fresh vegetables sourced from England, including numerous varieties of beans, potatoes and fresh fruit juices. For the Indian team it would be basically less spicy north Indian dishes, besides a few exquisite Kerala dishes,” he said.
And the ayurvedic spa at the hotel would provide invigorating massages to the players with herbal and medicinal oils unique to Kerala.
