Barely a month after Darul Uloom Deoband organized a historic, and first of its kind, anti-terrorism conference which was supported and attended by representatives of the Muslim community, the Kanpur anti-terrorism conference was organized by Ulema Council.

A huge crowd of people at Parade Ground here reaffirmed two facts: one, Muslim community strongly hates terrorism and two, it responds to a single call from Ulema even to this date. It was a memorable event when Darul Uloom Deoband organized the anti-terrorism conference in the supervision of the president of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind (JUH) and education secretary of Darul Uloom Deoband Maulana Arshad Madani on 25th February.

In his presidential address, the moving spirit of the Kanpur conference Maulana Mufti Manzoor Ahmad Kanpuri said anti-Muslim conspiracies were being hatched globally on a large scale. He came down heavily on the U.S. and Israel and accused these countries of spreading terrorism throughout the world.

Mufti Manzoor said killings and vandalism against Muslims in Palestine were shows of state-sponsored terrorism. On the problem of communalism in India, ha said Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh (RSS) supported terrorists and its direct evidence came from its support to Narendra Modi government in Gujarat.

JUH president and special guest at the conference Maulana Arshad Madani said terrorism was not an issue exclusively for Muslims rather it was an issue for entire country. What was worth pondering for us was the fact that communalism was rising in this country and the way the communal forces were overpowering secular forces was not a good sign for the country, he said. He said more than twenty thousand riots took place in India and thousands of Muslims were massacred. He refuted charges against madrasas.
