Gaza : Fierce clashes broke out early on Saturday between Israeli forces and Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad, in Qabatiya town, northern West Bank.
In a statement, the brigades said a group of its activists managed to detonate a number of small-sized improvised explosive devices and grenades targeting Israeli tanks and military vehicles.
The brigades stated that their operatives were stationed at the borders of Qabatiya village, and were able to stand up to Israeli tanks that executed an incursion into the town, leading to the eruption of violent clashes, the bloodiest in months.
It added that the several of grenades exploded within meters of each other, as well as detonating number small-sized explosive devices, making several direct hits at Israeli targets.
The clashes came in response to Israel’s policy of detaining Palestinian activists in the West Bank, and to confirm that resistance was the choice it made until such as time that all Palestinian territories were liberated.
