Dubai : Governor of the UAE Central Bank Sultan Bin Nasser Al-Suwaidi said the UAE is not de-pegging its currency from US dollar or even re-evaluating it.
In a statement to WAM, Al Suwaidi said: “why should there be a long-term solution for a short-term problem.” The Governor said no political pressures whatsoever are placed to maintain the pegging policy.
“Currency policy is not a game, rather it needs a lot of deliberation and in-depth consideration of all causes to produce a final conclusion”, stressed Al Suwaidi.
