Pakistan scrap market blast kills 8: TV

Lahore : At least 8 people were killed and several others injured in blast at a scrap market in the Pakistani eastern city of Lahore, TV channels reported.

City Police Chief Malik Iqbal confirmed five people were killed in the blast.

The blast also injured 20 others at Misri Shah’s neighborhood of the city, Geo television reported.

Police said that gas cylinder caused the blast.

They said that the injured included students of the nearby institutions.

Witnesses said that the laborers were cutting a gas cylinder was when it exploded with a huge bang.

The injured were taken to a nearby hospital.

They are stated to be in critical condition.
